The conference runs April 30-May 2, 2017. Becky will present Ethics and Risk Management in the New Era of Social Work.

This interactive seminar will cover key concepts in risk management, such as confidentiality and its exceptions, duty to warn, and informed consent. We will reveal the major reasons why social workers are sued and what they can do to reduce these risks; and define what constitutes a malpractice case and emphasize important record-keeping issues, guidelines for supervision, and special tips for clinical and private practitioners. We will also review malpractice insurance, its special features and implications for one’s practice. Social workers practicing in all settings and holding a variety of positions welcome. Participants can receive ethics and general continuing education credits.
