A Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.
January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968
Winner of the 1964 Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent efforts during the Civil Rights Movement
Martin Luther King Jr (MLK) is one of the most well-known advocates for civil rights in America. One major distinction that sets him apart from other champions was his staunch rejection of violent measures. Even after being arrested 30 times, MLK never faltered in his devotion to peace for all, regardless of color.
Here are five of my favorite Martin Luther King Jr. quotes:
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.
Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doingfor others?’
Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a permanent attitude.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Be a leader, like Martin Luther King Jr., and move to action TODAY.
